TEDESCHI. Vincent "Vincenzo" Tedeschi, 86, of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Joyce (Miner) Tedeschi passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015. Born September 8, 1928 in Sepino C. Basso, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Giacondina (Mortella) Tedeschi he and his wife lived in Bloomfield for many years where they raised their family before moving to Windsor 14 years ago. Vincent served with the U.S. Army during WWII before graduating from Hartford Public High School in 1948, he attended Trinity College for a year before transferring to Morse Business College where he obtained an Associate's Degree in Accounting. Vincent was employed by Brown Thompson & Company during the time they merged with G. Fox & Company, in all he was with them for 23 years. He would retire from the University of Hartford in 1991 after 17 years of employment where he worked in cash management, investments, insurance, as a bursar and as assistant treasurer. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troup #208, Bloomfield, he was Business Advisor to Junior Achievement Company, Section Chairman of Business Employees, 1965 Greater Hartford Community Chest Campaign and as president and treasurer of Sharon Heights Water Association. Outside of work he enjoyed camping, swimming, carpentry and gardening. When Vincent was only seven years old he left Italy for America, saying good-bye to his pony "Star" it was a sad day but even then he had this calmness that followed him throughout his life. He was eager for knowledge and at a young age he took care of the family finances. He worked tirelessly after marrying the love of his life, and he balanced work, school and newborns with ease. There was always time for memorable camping trips and travel. Later in life he again made memories with his children and grandchildren when they visited him in Pompano Beach, FL. He would make them batches of fried dough, sandwiches and bowls of fresh fruit cups before heading out to the beach. Upon return there was always pasta dinners made by our Mom. Food meant family and family meant fun. He had the soul of a sweet gentle and kind man who always gave of himself. As humble and quiet as he was he could bring down the house playing the accordion and harmonica at our grandparents Sunday gatherings. Family was the light of his life and source of inspiration. He knew no other way but to live life with integrity and as he neared the end it was a privilege for all of us to care for him. He will be greatly missed, loved and remembered by all those in his large circle of family and friends. Anyone who was touched by him will treasure their own memories and stories of him and will mourn this great man's death but celebrate his life. The family of Vincent Tedeschi wishes to express their appreciation and heartfelt thanks for the special and loving care given by Dawn Nolan.
