WILLIAM J. SCANLON (Age 97) On Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Louise P. Scanlon; loving father of Bill Scanlon (Celeste), Jim Scanlon (Nancy); Joan Wolf (Joe); Michele Marchica (Nick); late Paul and Louise Scanlon; cherished grandfather of 20; dear great-grandfather of 27. He is also survived by his daughter- in -law, Joyce Scanlon. Mr. Scanlon was a WWII PT Boat Skipper in the Pacific Theatre and was a retired Director of the Industrial Security Clearance Review Office for the U.S. Department of Defense. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5-8 PM at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 12319 New Hampshire, Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to breast cancer research.
