William "Bill" Martin Walker, 89, passed away September 1, 2024 at his home in Larned.
He was born July 29, 1935 in Larned, the son of Robert H. Walker Sr. and Ruth G. (Row) Walker. A lifetime area resident, he was a mechanic.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, doing carpentry work and remodeling houses. Bill was a jack of all trades.
On November 24, 1961 he married Helen M. Callahan in Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Tony (Alysha) Walker, Larned; three daughters, JoAn Giles, Larned, Janice Eakin, Great Bend, Julie (Graig) Peterman, Lyons; brother, Robert H. Walker Jr., Larned; two brother-in-law's, Dean Leslie, Larned and Joseph Callahan, Wichita; sister-in-law, Alice Callahan, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua (Lauren) Tiday, Aaron (Jenny) Tiday, Brock (Caitlyn) Eakin, Shabree (Cody Boger) Eakin, Lucas (Jamie) Giles, Evan Giles, Allison (Phil) Reece, Alex (Kelci) Walker, Bryce Walker, Tyler (Brandi) Peterman, Dr. Shynia Peterman, Adam Walker, Adrienne (Hunter) Edwards and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael "Mike" Walker; sister, Shirley Leslie; brother, Duane Walker and two sister-in-law's, Jackie Walker and Carrol Walker.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Anselm Eke, MSP presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024 with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, Kansas 67550. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
