William "Bill" Wilder

William "Bill" Ray Wilder, 77, of Jonesville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Lee County Community Hospital.
Bill was born on May 23, 1948 in Jonesville, Virginia to the late George Wilder and Ada Dickson Wilder. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He served four tours and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Bill was a hair dresser by trade and loved his community. He loved his family and was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, William Shadrick "Shad" Wilder; brother, Butch Wilder; sister, Brenda Goins; and grandmother, Lola James.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Burnette Wilder; children, Athiena Wilder, Ada Marie (Floyd) Byington, Joshua Ray Wilder, Shonda Turner, Chessica Cave, Sheri Ann Richerson, Shannon Hensley, and Shaunda Collins; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on June 5, 2025 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Buddy Allen officiating.
A committal service will follow at Ely Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
