WILSON CLAUDY Obituary
Wilson Thomas "Bill" Claudy, 76, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born November 17, 1947, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Wilson E. Claudy and Louise V. (Staubs) Claudy.
He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School class of 1965.
Bill was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
He was a member of Black Rock Bible Church of Hagerstown, MD.
Bill retired from Keystone Homes and was employed by Sunnycrest Farm and Home Center of Smithsburg after retirement.
He was an avid hunter, he enjoyed watching car races and taking cruises and loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jill (Blickenstaff) Claudy who he married March 23, 1969, sons, Eric Claudy and wife Jessica and Matthew Claudy and wife Carrie, sister, Virginia Pekar and husband Frank, daughter-in-law, April Claudy, brother-in-law, Ronald Blickenstaff and wife Cindy, sister-in-law, Vonanita Collins and husband Richard, grandchildren, Kirsten, Wyatt, Bailey, Michael and Rebecca and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Nathan Claudy and one brother, John Claudy.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00am, at Black Rock Bible Church, with Pastor Guy Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 8, 2024, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Wilson "Bill" Claudy to Black Rock Bible Church, 9646 Crystal Falls Dr. Hagerstown, MD 21740.
