LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Dwight Ellis Fulmer, 78, died December 16, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on March 2, 1944, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Ellis Hal and Lena Bouknight Fulmer. He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas and served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Little Mountain Masonic Lodge #281. Mr. Fulmer was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, shrimping and gardening. A creative thinker, he could fix anything and was an innovator who often came up with devices to make the job easier. Although known to speak his mind and be quite matter of fact, he was a mentor and encourager to others.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Koon Fulmer; a son, David Ellis (Denise) Fulmer of Little Mountain; a daughter, Denise Fulmer (Mike) Morales of Little Mountain; a brother, Bill (Brenda) Fulmer of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Corbyn Fulmer, Kyzer Fulmer, Ella Morales, Cooper Morales and Harper Morales; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Peggy) Koon and Homer (Jo) Koon; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Shealy and Debbie (Jim) Taylor; and his companion, Buddy.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Drafts. The family will receive friends following the service in the Trinity Life Center. Memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, building fund P.O. Box186, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
