Francis Malia Obituary


Francis J. "Frank" Malia, Jr., 86, Edgewater, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018. Mr. Malia, a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, was born in Trucksville, PA and moved to Edgewater in 2005 from Forty Fort, PA. He was a Customer Engineer and Staff Instructor for IBM before retirement and a member of St. Gerard Mission Church and American Legion Post #285, both in Edgewater. He was also a past director of the Hacienda del Rio Home Owners Association, Edgewater. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eleanor; son, Jim Malia; daughters, Karin (Bill) Barry, Beth (Mark) Zalutko and Pamela Malia and three grandchildren, Brian Barry and Lindsay and Jacob Malia. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa M. Barry. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Gerard Mission Church, 3171 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach.
