Fred Alan Brooks

Fred Alan Brooks, 66, of Amherst, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was the husband of Lanelle Montgomery Brooks for 17 years.

Born on April 5, 1954, he was a son of Cecil R. Brooks Sr., and Barbara Franklin Brooks. Fred was a graduate of Amherst County High School and was employed by Commercial Glass in Lynchburg. He enjoyed camping with his wife and friends, fishing, and working in his garage.

In addition to his wife and parents, Fred is survived by his brothers, Cecil Brooks Jr. and wife, Deb and Donnie Brooks and wife, Martha; his sister, Wanda Brooks McGee and husband, David; and his stepson, Lowell Steele and wife, Robin.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
