Ernest Rotermund Obituary
Ernest Frederick Rotermund, Jr., age 68, of Danbury, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. He was the devoted husband of Therese (Picard) Rotermund.
Ernest was born on October 16, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Ernest F. and Elizabeth (Havorka) Rotermund, Sr. He was a student at the Silvermine College of Art when he was drafted into the US Army. Mr. Rotermund was proud to be a veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was a Lithographer working for many area printing companies until his retirement in 2007. Being raised in the family floral business, he enjoyed gardening and landscaping. His passion was his family- they meant everything to him. He was a kind and loving man who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his beloved wife of 46 years, Therese, he is survived by 2 daughters: Tammy Johnson and her husband Christopher of Bethel and Joy Davis and her husband Logan of Waterbury; 3 grandchildren: Abigail, Renee and Nicholas Johnson; and 2 sisters: Lonna Hammond of Lebanon, TN and Bettina Santillan of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00AM at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury; burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 2 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00PM.
