I first met Ellen through the film classes I held at OLLI and we became instant and fast friends. I used to telephone her and talk about a multitude of subjects--and lost touch when I became very ill last Spring and was in hospital and then recovering through the late Summer of 2017. I could not find her phone number thereafter and just now, a full year later, located it in a desk drawer--only to find that I am, indeed, a year late--forever. She was a dear person, always so kind and so sweet. I've missed her this past year--and will miss her in all the years to come. My belated sympathy goes out to her family and her many, many friend. She spoke of you often, and of her Irish friends.

Dear Kathy, Andy, and Ellen,
Your mother and sister-in-law was the kindest person I have known. It was a pleasure to work with her, to be her friend, and be her and Phil's next door neighbor for many years. I extend my deepest sympathies to you all, as I know Andrew would if he were alive.
Know that you are in my thoughts.
Love, Judy

Ellen was my oldest friend, we had met at age 3 and 4 and stayed friends for. All these years. She was a loving model for me. We remained friends even when we lived far from each other.
