Clarence Robert Ziegler

1941 - 2023

Clarence Robert Ziegler, Jan. 12, 1941 to October 21, 2023. We loved our Dad! Our Mom loved her Husband! And he loved us! Our father, Clarence Robert Ziegler, passed away Saturday night, October 21, 2023 at our longtime home in Belle Chasse, La. He lived an incredible life and found his calling as a teacher. He loved caring for his special students and worked hard as the director of special education in Plaquemines Parish to advocate for each and every one. When everyone else was running away from storms, he ran to them as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. He loved helping and came back with crazy stories like cows in trees. He loved to tell stories and if you stayed too close too long you were gonna be in for a treat... even if you had heard it many times! When you needed direction and truth, he could and would provide it. You could depend on his advice. He will be remembered as a sincere Christian not because of what he said, but because of who he was. "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35. Our father and mother, Margaret Ann McGough Ziegler, were married for 61 years. Honesty, caring, grace and understanding for others were our Father's Hallmarks. We will miss him. We who were blessed to be his children are: Allen Robert and wife Shari Fay and their children Maegan and Aaron, Mark Stephen and wife Kelly Ann and their children, Angel and her husband Rikki (Cortez) and children Ezra, Ezekiel, Rhema and Harvest, Justin and his wife Jessica and children Kaitlyn, Luke, and Natalie Jace, Rodney Ellis and Irene Josephine and their children Samuel and Lilli. Michael Lloyd and Emmanuelle Ruiz and Michael's child AJ. While Anthony (Jensen) had his own mother and father, we count him as a brother all the same. Clarence Robert was born at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, LA to Clarence Sydney and Phoebe Ziegler. He was the second of six sons. Gone before him were his parents and his older brother Samuel Hadley. Survived by him are Martin and wife Nancy, Jonathan and wife Brenda, Ralph and wife Kathy, and Jimmy and wife Penny along with a host of nieces and nephews. They were all incredible and an integral part of our lives. We will have a memorial service for our Father: Friday, November 10, 2023, The Crossroads Church, 308 Avenue J, Belle Chasse, LA 70037, 5:00 pm Fellowship. 6:00 pm Memorial/Celebration of Life.
