William Kent Dupree

1930 - 2021

William Kent Dupree distinguished father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 20, 2021. Entering Heaven, he was reunited with his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly Ann Dupree. Kent was born in New Orleans La. on July 29, 1930 to Willie Daisy Francis Kent and Claude Cyril Dupree. After graduation from Fortier H.S., Kent went on to graduate from LSU in Business Management. Soon after graduation Kent joined the United States Air Force and served in the European Campaign of Word War Il, and Korean War achieving the rank of First Lieutenant by the end of the war. Upon his return home Kent began his life long career in the insurance industry and was active in many insurance associations and boards. In 1974 Kent was chosen to be the eighth King of Endemion and was active in several Mardi Gras Krews. Kent is survived by his 3 children Brenda Watts, Elizabeth Palmer and Billy Dupree, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, September 30th at 9:30am – 11:30am followed by a Service at 11:30 am at Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N Causeway Blvd. Metairie 70001.
