WHELEHAN - Francis (Frank), age 84, of New Milford, on Saturday, August 5, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (nee Ressig). Devoted father of Margaret Moran and her late husband Kevin, Andrea Callahan and her husband Patrick, and Nance Smith and her husband Michael. Adoring grandfather of Margaret Smith, Katherine Mattson, Sarah Provenson, Michael Smith, Sean Smith, Gretchen Moran, and Kelsey Callahan. Loving great-grandfather of Kevin Provenson and Conor Smith. Cherished son of the late Marie (nee Lind) and Francis Whelehan. Dearly loved brother of Veronica O'Connell, Robert, and the late Virginia Brown, Richard and Thomas. Caring and loved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Queens, New York. He was retired from Universal (Vivendi) Films, New York. Marine who fought in World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Gooney Bird Detachment #434 Marine Corps League, New Milford. Member of the River Edge VFW. Those who wish may make donations to the Gooney Bird Detachment #434, PO Box 1775, New Milford, NJ 07646.

They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
