DOUGLAS C. ROBERTS LOWELL, IN Douglas Charles Roberts, 63, of Lowell, died at 9:36 p.m. Friday (February 26, 2016) at Franciscan St. Anthony Health, Crown Point. Mr. Roberts was a pharmacist and worked for a number of years with family businesses, including Roberts Drug Store in Lowell. He was a 1970 graduate of Lowell High School, where he played football and basketball. He played basketball at Butler University in Indianapolis, where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in pharmacy. He earned a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Mississippi in 1976. He was born May 9, 1952, in Gary, to Charles Frank and Grace Belle Love Roberts. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Samuel Douglas Roberts, of Crown Point; and three sisters: Diane (Lawrence) Dorocke, of Carmel, Jan (Michael) Perkins, of Huntington, and Gail Roberts, of DeMotte. Cremation will precede visitation, which is set for 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5 and will conclude with memorial services at 2:00 p.m., both at First United Methodist Church, 520 E.
