Elizabeth Godfrey Obituary
Elizabeth Louise (nee Schiff) Godfrey, age 81, of Demotte, IN, formerly of Evansville, IN passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Elizabeth was a nurse at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN for 20 years where her co-workers and former patients still speak lovingly of her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a fixture at all their baseball games and was the unofficial score keeper. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Tilley; her parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Schiff; brothers: Clarence, Gilbert, James, and William; and sister, Mary Jane. She is survived by her children: Charles D. Godfrey, Chesley A. (Connie) Godfrey, Michele R. (Donald) Tilley and Theresa G. (Peter) Klein; grandchildren: Joseph and Thomas Godfrey, Samantha, Chesley, III, and Callie Godfrey, Tessa, Donald, and Michael Tilley, and Katie Klein; great-grandchildren: Hannah Jordan and Jake Robertson; sisters: Jeanette Schenk and Margie Roth. Mausoleum services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2500 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of aunt Betty. She has certainly endured some trials in her life. I will give mom (Margie Roth) the news this weekend but doubt that she will fully grasp it. If she did, it would sadden her greatly.
