CHARLES HAMLIN Obituary
72, formerly of New York City and Washington, DC, died February 15, 2017 in Providence, RI. He is survived by his husband, Paul Bergeron, his sisters, Carol Hamlin, Cathy Homicz and her husband A.J. Homicz, and his sister-in-law Rachel Bergeron and her husband H. Alton Allen. He was predeceased by his parents, Rosalind (Harrison) Hamlin and Charles Hamlin. He was a Vice President and Group Manager for Burston-Marsteller in New York City and Vice President of Communication for the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC until his retirement. In 2004, he was made an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects. Following his retirement in 2003, he and Paul founded Sakonnet River Pie in Little Compton, RI. I met Charles when we both worked in the public affairs department at McGraw-Hill. We had three more things in common: we both lived on the Upper West Side, we both grew up in central Massachusetts, and we both owned homes on Block Island. I enjoyed his company (and his cooking) and am sorry to learn that he is no longer with us.

To the Hamlin Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
