I am Glen Nygreen's oldest granddaughter, Kristin, and I just wanted to say how much these comments mean to me. 'Grandaddy,' as we called him, played a very active role in our lives and was instrumental in helping us become the socially conscious adults we strive to be today. Every step of the way, he encouraged us to think about how our actions would help others in need. He was patient and kind and always guiding, never judgemental. His sons in law loved him like a grandfather as well. We will miss him so much and think of him often. I am comforted to hear so many voices whose lives were touched by Grandaddy. Thank you for taking the time to write.

In 1963 when Dean Nygreen arrived at Hunter College I was an active member of the Student Government, eventually to become the Vice President. I was a time of change for Student -Administration relations, and Dean Nygreen measured up in every respect, although one never felt he was anything but a squeaky clean county boy. We became quite friendly in those early years. The Dean and his wife Beverly attended a Passover Seder in my parents home (a first for them and also a first time for an outsider guest for our family.) His questions were probing and showed his interest for all things. I am please that five years later the Dean and Beverly were guests at my wedding. I remember them both well and fondly. I am sorry I heard of the service too late to attend.

What a pleasure it was to have worked with Dr. Nygreen back in the 1980's in the office of Student Affairs at Lehman College. He was such an affable person, so understanding of one's day to day activities and a true gentelman and scholar. May his soul rest in peace.

Glen was a warm, wonderful, intelligent friend who will be sorely missed by our family. He was one of the first people who made us feel truly at home at Scarsdale Congregational Church. We will always remember him with very great affection.

I remember Dean Nygreen quite well from a Social Statistics class I took with him over 30 years ago. He made us "math-phobes" feel comfortable with the work, and encouraged me to go to graduate school in Sociology, which I did at Ohio State, where I received my MA in 1981.I will always be grateful for all his positive encouragement.

Dean Nygreen's warm smile, good nature and extreme patience with those of us at the Lehman College Meridian during the late 60s and early 1970s will always be appreciated. He offered us guidance, understood our antics, often laughing with us and provided an excellent example. He will be missed and warmly remembered.

Glen was a fine friend and super nice man, a real gentleman. We cherish his 20 years as secretary of the board of Deer Hill Conf. Center, Inc. from its inception to its dissolution. We are grateful for his life and for all he has done for humanity. Being counted as one of his friends was very meaningful. Godspeed to his family. J.R.Werner for the Deer Hill Board.
