May 10, 1946 - April 24, 2021
Judy Long Whitaker, 74 of Opelika, Alabama went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 24, 2021 surrounded by her family.
A graveside service will be 11:00am Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Garden Hills Cemetery with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 beginning at 9:30am until 10:45am at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Judy was born May 10, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia daughter of the late Reedy Frank Long and Alma Stringfellow Long. Judy was a member of Purpose Baptist Church and loved her bible studies and had a deep commitment to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her passion was spending time with her children, sisters and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome when they visited her home.
Other than her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Holice Cary Whitaker, sister: Jimmie Clyde Kasulka and her brothers, Carlton Long, Lamar Long, Wayne Long, Philip Long, Larry Long.
Survivors include her children, Jamie Hightower (Mark) Opelika Al, Jeff Fair (Anna) of Opelika, Al, Lisa McDaniel (Chuck) of Columbus, GA, Jennifer Beth (Jeff) of Auburn, Al, Chris Whitaker (Heather) of Buford, GA. Cindy Carmichael (Tim) of Davidson NC; sisters; June Sistrunk, Betty Jewel Plague, Shirley Myrick, Janeta Cornett all of Opelika, Alabama. She also leaves behind her 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that she loved and adored.
Flowers will be accepted, those so desiring may make contributions to Beth Ohr Messianic Congregation P.O. Box 187 Salem, Alabama 36874.
