Cheryl Gump Obituary

Cheryl Lee Gump, 74, of Wellsburg, W.Va., passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Weirton Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved daughters.

She was born May 3, 1947, in San Mateo, Calif., a daughter of the late Lloyd Roger and Shirley Lorraine Coburn Johnson.

A 1967 graduate of Buchser High School, in Santa Clara, Calif., she was Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Gump had worked as a certified nursing assistant for more than five years at Presbyterian Senior Care. She loved caring for people.

Cheryl loved listening to country music, flower gardening, angels, camping, her dogs, and doing the numerous crafts that she was so good at. She belonged to several online Facebook communities, and enjoyed listening to the police scanner.

On January 20, 1998, she married Earl Daniel Gump, who passed away April 17, 2019.

Surviving are three daughters, Tanya Scott of Wellsburg, Kimberly (Brian) Piatt of Washington and Colleen Watt of Washington; three stepdaughters, whom she shared with her second husband, Dan Gump; a sister, Marie Moore of Grass Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren, Ryan Michael Scott, Amber Marie Scott and Michael James Piatt; along with three great-grandchildren, Steven Scott, Charlee Hukill and Andee Hukill; and many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

Deceased are a brother, Everett "Eddie" Fordham; and a sister, Betty Sexton.

At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
