Louise M. Shoaf Long Peck, 86, of Carmichaels Arbors, Carmichaels, was peacefully called home to her Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2015, while in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
She was born December 25, 1928, in Cowensburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Luke Shoaf.
Mrs. Peck was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels and served as a janitor for Fellsburg United Methodist Church for many years.
She enjoyed spending time and playing bingo at Carmichaels Senior Center. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling to Florida every winter.
Some of her last words to her family surrounding her at her bedside were "I just want my kids to love each other. God forgives and forgets so we all need to do that too!"
On May 30, 1947, she married John Long, who died September 30, 1974. On April 5, 1976, she married Donald Peck, who died July 15, 2003. Mrs. Peck enjoyed 27 years of marriage with each of her husbands, prior to their Lord calling them home.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane Rayburn Hicks of Toledo, Ohio; two sons, Mark Long and wife Wendy of Carmichaels and Robert Long and wife Lynette of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren, Richard Rayburn of Ford City, Michelle Herbster of Toledo, Ohio, Renee Bennett (Barry) and Tina Trainor (Mark), both of Carmichaels, Tricia Blatnik (Vince) of Fredericktown, Joshua Long (Nicole) of Maine and Amanda Erickson (Joshua) of Georgia; 18 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Rayburn, Cheryl, Jessica and Brian Herbster, Eric, Brandon and Nathan Bennett, Chad and Corey Trainor, Luke Blatnik, Mackenzie, Caleb, Chase and Carter Long and Tiffany, Robert and Isabella Erickson; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Ken Peck (Sandy) of Butler and Russell Peck (Diane) of Fayette City; stepdaughter Charlene Peck Hare (Jim) of Ashtabula, Ohio; two stepgrandchildren, Ryan Peck and Kaytlyn Hare; and a wonderful caregiver of over three years, Darlene Beswick of Carmichaels, whom she loved very much.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and former husbands, are a brother, Merle Shoaf; a sister, Mable Jennings; and a granddaughter, Cheryl Rayburn.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, with the Rev. Bruce R. Judy officiating. Interment will follow at Fells Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
