BENZING, RICHARD L., 80
Ocala - Richard L. 'Rick" Benzing, 80 of Ocala passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on Mon. Aug 3, 2009. Rick was born to the parents of Carl & Goldie (Gilbert) Benzing in Flint Mich. He was a retired Tool & Die Maker for General Motors where he worked for 25 years. Rick moved here 25 years ago from his native Michigan to enjoy Golf, model airplane flying, fishing, bowling and tinkering in the garage. He was an Army veteran that served in Germany from 1950 to 1952. Rick was proud to be a charter member of Ocala West United Methodist Church, and was a member of On Top of the World Men's Golf Assoc. and other various clubs in the community. He is survived by his devoted wife Myrtle R. Benzing of 55 years here in Ocala, Fl., 3- cherished daughters: Pat (Dar) Griffith of Flushing, MI., Lynn Benzing of Branchburg, NJ, and Joyce (Bob) Francis of Martinsburg, WV., and 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. There will be celebration of Rick's life on Sat, Aug 8th at the Ocala West United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM all are welcome to attend the service. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Ocala West United Methodist Church or Hospice Legacy house in memory of Rick. Arrangements by Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce West Chapel 352-854-2266.
