Ed was my boss at Bailey for nine years: 1971-1980. And I'm sure that as a 24-year old, I was a handful. But Ed never lost patience with, or confidence in me. He taught me what it was to be a professional, and how to be worthy of the respect of others. He never stood in my way when trying to find my own path and tried to guide me when I'd listen. The lessons he taught me resonate down to this day and have helped me start and run a company of my own for the last 31 years. I'm glad I had a chance to visit with him in 2015 and tried to express how much he meant to me. I'll miss him.

My heartfelt condolences to Marty, Beth and the Gabrosek family. Ed was an example to many, including me, of the best qualities of servant leadership. His wise counsel and hard work as a Board Member of the YMCA truly exemplified the best of Christian values and enhanced the lives of thousand of YMCA members and Lake County residents. While Ed will be greatly missed and his passing is a significant loss to our community, his contributions will continue to benefit Northeast Ohio for many years to come.
