Richard Orcutt Obituary

Richard Chandler Orcutt, 75, of Ravenna died Saturday, October 24, 2009.

He was born November 17, 1933 in Akron to the late Gordon Earl and Marie (Pollard) Orcutt. Richard was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War, a member of PLAV #13, American Legion #685, VFW #9716 and AMVETS #0176.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Florence (Sobecki); daughters, Katherine (Robert) Chaney and Dianna (Stanley) Bilski; son, Richard E. (Susan) Orcutt; six grandchildren (including granddaughter Christy Hendricks who he helped raise); three great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Snyder; and a brother, Ron Orcutt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Alan Orcutt.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 28th and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 29th at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A mass of christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Fr. John Michael Lavelle officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. (Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Ravenna 330-296-6858)
