Sam Glinn Obituary
On March 18, 2015 God called home his faithful servant Sam L Glinn.
Sam "S.L." was born on June 1, 1921 in York, Alabama to Howard and Nora Glinn. "S.L." was the beloved husband for over 71 years to Marjorie who predeceased him; dearest father to Beatrice (Vaughn) Woolridge, Samuel (Jacqueline) Glinn, Velma (William) Sales and Ethel Townsend (deceased); loving grandfather of Ryan Woolridge, Derrick Glinn, Kara Woolridge, LaRonda Glinn, Sara Woolridge, Janice Christian, James Townsend, Darren Townsend, Anthony Townsend and Danielle Husband; great-grandfather of Alivia Perkins, Alisha Woolridge, Ariana McCoy, Zaina Woolridge, Zoee Woolridge, Dorina Glinn, Daniela Glinn, LeKesha Parkman, Taylor Howard-Parkman, Jasmine Glinn and Jala Glinn; great-great-grandfather of Arayvia Perkins, Jada James, Marcus Lockett, Jr. and MyLonna Lockett. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The legacy of S.L.'s life included serving in the Army during World War II and over 28 years of service at B.F. Goodrich. He also was a truck driver for Alsco Aluminum Company.
His family would like to thank Dr. Iftekhar Husain and Dr. Mohammed Abo Khamis, the VA, Summa Health System City Hospital and Catholic Charities Services Adult Day Care. And a very special thanks to Akron General Visiting Nurse Service Justin T. Rodgers Hospice Care Center.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 940 McKinley Ave., Akron, OH 44306, Pastor Lorenzo Glenn officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 964 Hartford Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44320.

Coming home to visit surely won't be the same for me after the passing of S.L. and Cousin Marjorie. The most beautiful thing of all, is that, they are both together again. They will be truly missed by our family, for they have been there for us with their caring love and support for over 40 years since the passing of our mother "Catherine". Their kindness and smiling faces will be missed during family gatherings, but our love for them both, will be in our hearts and mind forever. Many blessing to the Glinn Family at this time.

Family Imagine the family,friends and FOOD at the gate when SL walked in. I visualize people I have not thought about in a while:
Mom Glinn, Cousin Little Bud, Jake Campbell and Jesse Brooks. FAMILY SL is at a family reunion like none other before. I can't imagine the the spread of food that was prepared for that reunion. With that I find Comfort and Peace.
RIP in heaven SL my family and my friend until we meet again.
