Prayers to Matts wife and family. Matt definitely has touched many people over the years. He survived countless hours in the wheelchair van with my husband at River Rescue. I am sure he took the true story with him on how they drove it up on the hood of a Pinto. Many more memories, always a story when it involved Matt. Rest in Peace.

Where do you start? Another one of our own taken away too early. Working with Matt on the ambulance at River Rescue, Capital Region EMS being one of the first people I meet when I moved here to Harrisburg, he and Betty(RIP) were the ones that took me in guided me and showed me the ways of city EMS. AS others have posted the good ol'days, that they were and Matt you will never be forgotten, I, as others, miss those days and the crazy things we did. In the streets we were a team and you always had your partners back and made long busy days more fun and tolerable. Know Matt that anytime stories are told by any of us "old timers" we are doing with a smile and a laugh and saying "how did we ever make it those some of those days". You will be missed and Heaven has another EMS angel, say "hi" to Doug Daniel from us left here on this world and the others we have lost. RIP my friend.

You never realize the good times you had and the memories that we're made, until moments like this. Matt was one of us - a member of the Harrisburg River Rescue/Capital Region EMS that spent countless hours in the tumultuous and often deadly streets of Harrisburg caring to the sick, injured, and homeless. And then - there was fun times! 3002 N. 2nd Street, Erbie bobbing, Doug's Hot Tub, Paradise Alley, reading the newspaper when the mayor spoke, ye ol' Uptown Station, spring break in OCMD, Brass Balls (Station #5) and the mystery ambulance rolling through town - we affectionately called "The Wild Thing".
Through thick and thin, we laughed, we cried, and we .... well, he knows what we did ... and we did our best each day for a city that never cared until they needed us. Matt was a great partner - loyal to the service, dedicate to the craft, and compassionate enough to make a difference. Although, he hadn't been active in years - he's still one of ours.
Rest easy brother - we got it from here.
