Elaine Simpson Obituary
Chesapeake - Elaine Cline Simpson, 63, died June 22, 2013. A native of Kannapolis, NC, she was the daughter of the late Vance H. and Edna Wilson Cline. Elaine worked in the office of E.V. Williams Paving Co. and was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe F. Simpson; two daughters, Jessica Lee Herrin and husband David, and Courtney Lynn Harris and husband Brian, all of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Jaylin, Trenton, Leah and Lucas; and a brother, Larry Cline of Portsmouth.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at 11 AM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7-8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD 20855. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com

As a friend of Larry's, I've only heard fantastic stories about Elaine and sorry I did not know her personally. She will be missed by many people as I know she touched a lot of people in her life. My condolences to the Cline and Simpson families.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Simpson's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting and caring for Ms. Simpson while working as a respiratory therapist in Norfolk. I am saddened to hear of her passing but I know she is in a much better place.
