Louis Kitchin Obituary

Louis Leonard Kitchin VIRGINIA BEACH - Louis Leonard Kitchin, 74, passed away March 13, 2010. Mr. Kitchin was born in Scotland Neck, N.C., to the late Louis Leonard Kitchin and Ethel Pope. Mr. Kitchin graduated from Oceana High School and attended The College of William & Mary. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean conflict. He was a political consultant for more than 30 years. Eight of those years were spent as the Southern political director for the Reagan and Bush campaigns. He was an active Episcopalian, attending Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach. Mr. Kitchin was past president of the Virginia Beach Sports Club and a member of The Reagan Alumnae Association. Lou was a dedicated husband and father and devoted a great deal of his time to coaching many baseball and soccer teams as his children were growing up. He was also an avid cyclist. Survivors include his wife, Marian Dudley Kitchin; his children, Louis Kitchin of Washington, Paul Kitchin of California, John Kitchin of Georgia, Matthew Kitchin of Tennessee; and his sister, Ann Midgett of Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Galilee Episcopal Church. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hdoliver.com.

Wow, it was bad enough you losted your mom early. I was really shocked to see your dad in here. He was way too young in my opinion. Take care all of you guys and I will certainly keep you in my prayers.
