Delmer Chenore Obituary

DELMER SHERMAN CHENORE "Pops" Age 75, of Merrillville, IN, leaves behind his wife Elaine, of 53 years. He was the proud father of Denise (Robert) Super, Diana (Mark) Roszkowski, Rene' (James), and only son, Royce S. Chenore. Loving grandfather of Westen, Christen, Craig, Cameron, Sydney and Alexis. Brother of Marlene Belanger of Kankakee, IL. In addition, he leaves numerous lifelong friends, canine companion "CoCo," & his Harley Davidson. He was a past President and member of Illiana Lucky Wheels and motorcycle enthusiast. A retired Diesel Mechanic of Summerfield GMC Gary, IN, with 43 years of service. Delmer was especially honored to serve as a U.S. Marine in WWII from 1944-1948 in Pearl Harbor. One of Del's favorite pastimes was his "talented tinkering" down in the garage; As well as being an avid fisherman with "BIG" fish stories that somehow got away! Gone fishing! Funeral Service will be held at Stilinovich & Wiatrolik Funeral Home, 7535 Taft St., Merrillville, Saturday, November 29, 2003, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Scher-erville, IN. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Calumet Area, 511 Otis Bowen Drive, Munster, IN 46321, in his name will be appreciated.
