One of my first memories of playing basketball is attending the Jack McCloskey Girl's Basketball camps at Alvernia. Not only was Jack a great coach and motivator, but also a kindhearted and caring person. I owe a great deal of my success to Mr. McCloskey and will forever by grateful to him. I don't know much about his family life but I offer my condolences.

Peg - Your husband and I were friends and teammates at Central Catholic. After receiving a call about his passing, I told my wife stories about him and the time we shared for nearly an hour. He was a terrific fellow who will live on in our memories.

I have fond memories of Coach McCloskey as he mentored us on the basketball courts back in Ashland (Eureka Park), where he organized a summer league basketball program which was elite with players from all levels. He was a fundamental Coach who enjoyed helping others appreciate the game. Truly a person I have always admired.
