Evin Kleinganz Obituary
HYDE PARK - Evin Hans Kleinganz, 20, of Poughkeepsie, passed away tragically on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born on May 1, 1997 in Poughkeepsie, the son of Hans Guenter and Colleen (Zeyher) Kleinganz. Evin attended Arlington Central Schools for the entirety of his grade school career and went on to attend the College of Saint Rose as a Forensic Science major and a pitcher on their Division II baseball team. Evin was presently enrolled at Dutchess Community College as a student in the Criminal Justice department.
One of the great joys of his life was the many years he spent as a dedicated member of the Hudson Valley baseball community and the countless friends he made during that time. In addition to his effortless athleticism, Evin is fondly remembered for the happiness he found in connecting with others, his bright smile, adventurous spirit, and endlessly generous heart. His quick wit and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Evin is survived by his parents, Hans and Colleen, of Poughkeepsie and his sister, Kyra, of Los Angeles. His loss is further mourned by his maternal aunt, Nancy Seeger of Salt Point, and paternal aunts Stefanie (Jupp) Maylahn and Petra (Hugo Bors) Kleinganz, of Cologne, Germany, along with maternal uncles Mark (Deb) Zeyher of Stanfordville and Karl (Ginene) Zeyher of Poughkeepsie. Evin is also survived by cousins Erik, Jordan, Aaron, Kelsey, Kyle, and baby Spencer Zeyher, Lena Maylahn, and Lutz Kleinganz. Evin is predeceased by his aunt, Anita Kleinganz, his paternal grandparents, Hans and Luise Kleinganz, and maternal grandparents Lewis and Janet Zeyher.
Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017, 4-8PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10AM in The United Church of Christ, 5928 Rt. 82, Stanfordville, NY 12581. Burial will follow in the Stanfordville Cemetery, Stanfordville, NY. Although we don't know each other personally, I just wanted to send my humble condolences. Having lost my son Danny suddenly and tragically to a lightning strike almost 4 years ago, at the age of 26, my heart is aching for you. I wish I had words of comfort to send but I know your pain is beyond words. Please just cling to each other and try to survive this unbearable loss. I will be thinking of you.
