Barbara Simmons Obituary

An inspiration to those who knew her, ended her courageous battle with leukemia on March 24, 2009. Beloved wife of Roy D. Simmons; loving mother to David W. Rosendin and Joanne Rosendin, her daughter-in-law Holly Ann Rosendin, her adopted daughter Barbara Nash, and her grandchildren Jenny, Steve and Laura Rosendin. Barbara was active in the Republican Party, was a precinct representative on the Central Committee in Sonoma County while residing in Santa Rosa, and a member of the Placer County Republican Women's Federation. Born in Oakland, CA on December 14, 1929, she loved working with children, and was a junior high/middle school teacher in the Moreland School District, in San Jose, for nearly 30 years. A California native, Barbara earned her BA degree at San Jose State College, and her Masters in Education from Pepperdine University. Barbara had a zest for life, and was an extraordinary source of love and fun to her family and friends. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing the piano. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her, but she will remain in our hearts forever. A private memorial celebration of Barbara's wonderful life will be held near her home in Rocklin, CA.
