Mary ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON, Mary Jane (Norvill) A longtime resident of Santa Rosa, entered into rest on December 29, 2014. Many Jane was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended UCLA and graduated from Bishop Johnson College of Nursing in 1941. Besides nursing, Many Jane was a flight attendant with United Air Lines. She met her husband, Stanley Anderson, on a flight from San Francisco to Salt Lake City in 1941. He was the pilot, she the stewardess. They were married in 1942. In 1961, Mary Jane and Stanley, having purchased the Wikiup Rancho, moved their four boys to Santa Rosa. In addition to being a wife to a pilot and developer and a mother to four boys, she was active in Christian Women's Club and also instrumental in bringing the Evangelical Free Church to Wikiup. Mary Jane was always helpful and encouraging to others. She especially loved hugs. She had four sons, Stanley Maynard Jr. of Penngrove, the late Daryl James, Marc Shelley of Minneapolis, and Christopher Alan of Santa Rosa. Daughters-in-law Cathy, Tanya, and Elaine. She also has five grandchildren, Valerie, Matt, Adam, Spencer, and Colin, and four great grandchildren, Connor, Alec, Corinne, and Evan. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, January 3rd at 3:00 P.M. at Grace Church, 2293 Fulton Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. Friends are invited. Santa Rosa Mortuary Eggen and Lance Chapel, 545-3747.
