I am one of Barbara's many friends in the Class of 1954 of R.I. College of Education. Over the years we got together for a summer lunch and will miss her. My sympathy to the whole family - she was so proud of y'all!

Auntie Barbara
The twinkle in her eyes
Her smile lit up the room
How I always felt welcomed
Accepted
Honored
Auntie Barbara was the "real deal"
Smart as a whip
Kind as could be
Always ready to laugh or commiserate
Her time was well spent
I am sad that she left us
And thankful for the time we had together.
God Bless Us, Every One

My deepest sympathy to all Barbara's family. I was a classmate of hers at CF High School and have had the privilege of being in contact with her thru our mini reunions during the year. She was always a delight and so much fun to be with. I will miss her sense of humor. My prayers are with you all.

I had the pleasure of working with Barbara at the old Broad Street School. It was my very first experience teaching in Central Falls and I was extremely fortunate to have Barbara for a mentor teacher as I completed my student teaching experience. I believe I was her first (and only) student teacher. Twenty years later I still call Central Falls my home and I owe my humble beginnings to Mrs. Mitchell. Rest in peace- Gina
