Louise Sanger Obituary

SANGER, LOUISE P., 99, formerly of Duxbury, Ma. passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Hallworth House, Providence. She was the wife of the late Kent Sanger. Born in Rye, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Helen Ballard Powers. Mrs. Sanger raised her family in Essex, CT where she managed a branch of the Outdoor Traders and was a resident of Duxbury for 49 years before moving to Providence. Louise lived a fulfilling life tending to her family and home with expert care. She enjoyed being with people and sharing thoughts and ideas with her many friends both young and old. Her varied interests included gardening, flower arranging, playing golf and bridge, nature walks, knitting, investments, current events and entertaining in her historic home. She will be remembered for her generosity and outgoing personality and her love for life and family. Louise leaves one daughter, Anne K. Wood of Seekonk, one son, John A. Knowles III of Pennsylvania, five grandchildren, R. Christopher Wood, Jr., Eliza W. Dietz, Jennifer W. Jencks, Jared A. Knowles and Amanda G. Knowles, three step-daughters, Kathleen Yorke, Joan Griffith and Aileen Briggs and eight great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM in St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 50 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. There will be a service celebrating the life of Louise Sanger on April 27, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Duxbury, Ma at 11:00 AM.
