Barbara "Barb" J. Foster
September 17, 1939 - September 1, 2023
Barbara "Barb" J. Foster, 83, of Davenport, passed away Friday September 1, 2023, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 7, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. The visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church, Rock Island or the family.
Barb was born on September 17, 1939, in Buffalo, IA, the daughter of Eugene William and Rupertia "Marie" (Teel) Hasson and was the oldest of ten siblings. She married Lyle Foster on February 14, 1959, in Rock Island. Barb retired in 1999 after 20 years of service at John Deere Seeding Group in Moline.
Barb's faith in Jesus Christ was very important to her. She was an active member of Bethel Assembly of God Church Rock Island where she was leader of the Prime Timers. In her younger years she was active in all of her children's activities. Barb enjoyed card making with her community at Silvercrest Garner and hunting with her husband. Most important to her was caring for her husband of 64 years, Lyle, and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle; children: Jeanie (Darryl) Cassatt, Greg (Kelly) Foster, Joanie (Mark) Humphrey; grandchildren: Bill (Stacey) Hirth, Julie (Michael) Tompos, Katie Cassatt, Bradley (Krystal) Foster, Ryan (Lauren) Foster, Elizabeth Cook, Kristal (Zack) Ziffer, Joshua (Hannah) Humphrey; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
