Janet Selleck
November 17, 1935-October 29, 2021
DEWITT-Janet Selleck, 85 of DeWitt, Iowa passed away peacefully on October 29, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was born on November 17, 1935, in Burlington, Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart, James Selleck, on July 3, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Janet and Jim moved to DeWitt, Iowa in 1974, where Janet worked as the hospital administrative secretary under the tenure of five hospital administrators. Affectionately known as "Moo," she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Janet enjoyed drinking whiskey cokes and taking her family's money playing Rummy. She never met a slot machine she didn't like. However, she did not like these things: radios, birds, storms, and the wind.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughters Tina (David) Holst, DeWitt, IA, and Tammy Olney, Rochester, MN; grandchildren Zach (Brittany) Holst, DeWitt, IA, Katelyn Holst (fiancé Nick Gascich), Chicago, IL, Ryan Olney, Council Bluffs, IA, and Jake Olney, Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren Kellan and Remi Holst; brothers Shane (Sue) Bronston, Lake Geneva, IL and Tom (Mary) Tilton, Lakeland, FL. Sister Linda (Dave) Riley, Burlington, IA.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Eva and Lawrence Tilton; brothers Larry and Jerry Tilton; and husband, Jim Selleck.
Janet never wanted to be the center of attention, so her services will be private for immediate family members only. Those wishing to honor Janet are welcome to make a donation to the DeWitt Community Hospital Foundation.
Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.
Condolences may be expressed and a photo tribute viewed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.
