I loved Mr. Hackett's old school personality he always had pride in his appearance, extending his hand as a salutation, asked how you where doing "then listened to your answer" and through all of the physical pain he endured late in life he never complained about his discomfort. I know most of all he loved his children and was proud of what they had achieved through their work and life endeavors. I think he would want everyone to honor his life in a way that would bring us all together family and friends, because Mr. Hackett was always at his best mixing among us sharing stories and toasting to life. This ones for you Mr. Hackett, Rest In Peace because you earned it and lived a full and honorable life!

Wonderful man, true gentleman, like a second father to me, treated my mother with the utmost respect when the two were dating in the mid 70s. Great memories of Jack at Habershon Field and summers in Old Lyme. They don't make them like that anymore.

I am very saddened to hear of Jack's passing. He was such a special friend to my mom, Peggy, at the Village at Kensington, and I have several pictures of them enjoying the activities together. He meant a great deal to me because he brought so much light and laughter to Mom's life.
With sincerest sympathy,
Pam Moran

Sorry to hear about Jack. Always had a smile and a wink. Still remember picking him up at Wal Mart and bringing him to your condo when he came back from his trip. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
