John A. Caswell

1949 - 2016

John A. Caswell, 67, a resident of Spofford, NH, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, (09-05-16), following a short, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Colrain, MA, on February 2, 1949, the son of the late Robert Caswell and Althea (Spring) Caswell.
John received his education at Western New England College in Springfield, MA, in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an Electrical Engineer at Pratt and Whitney in West Hartford, CT, and Boise Cascade in Brattleboro, VT, and went on to become the Purchasing Manager at Fibermark in Brattleboro, VT, where he worked for a total of 33 years.
John's passion was working on projects at home and for others. A handyman and true jack-of-all-trades, John took pride and enjoyment in helping his family, friends, and neighbors on any project that involved fixing things.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Caswell and Althea (Spring) Caswell.
His survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda (Clark) Caswell of Spofford, NH, a son, Mike Caswell and Mary Connors of VT, a daughter, Rebecca Brodeur and her husband Stephen Brodeur and grandson Miles Brodeur of Dover, NH, and by his siblings, Vernon Caswell and his wife Texanne of Shelburne Falls, MA, Errol Caswell of Ellicott City, MD, Jane Caswell of Golden Beach, FL and Donald Caswell of Jacksonville, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
At John's request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to make memorial contributions in John's name to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (www.lustgarten.org).
