Penny Jo McKee

1944 - 2021

In loving memory of my mother Penny Jo McKee who passed away August 19th, 2021. Penny was born in 1944 in Porterville, California to the parents of Stan and Sally Uchytil.
She lived her younger childhood years in Billings, Montana, before moving back to Porterville in the 1950's with her parents. She attended local schools where at the age of 13 met the man she would marry, C.D. McKee. They were married four years later in 1961. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Springville Tuberculosis Hospital for several years until she and my father moved to Castro Valley, Ca in the 60's where they would raise their family. In 1979, mom and dad moved back to Porterville where it had all begun for both of them. Mom got a job with a private company at the time called "Dial-A-Colt (now known as our City Transit System). She loved her job very much. She loved meeting people and getting to know a little bit about them as she would drive them to their destinations.
As the years past, my mother gave up her job to stay at home with my dad that had fallen very ill. She would spend the next 10 years dedicating herself to the man she loved so dearly until his passing in 2003. It was very difficult, as anyone can imagine, loosing the man you have loved for 43 years. However, anyone that knew my mother, knew she was a very strong willed lady. She battled her own health issues but that never stopped her from continuing to be the best mom, grandmother and great-grandmother she could be.
Mom had many friends in her lifetime that will surely miss her. She is survived by her daughter's Terry Feagin and Diane Cyphers; her grandkids, Michael McKee, Kally Feagin, Emily Feagin and Daniel Leach; her great-grandkids, Jay Feagin, Beverly Feagin and Quinn McKee.
My mother will be forever missed and loved. I consider myself very lucky to have had her as my mother. She was not only my mom but my best friend. Life will never be the same without her. Until we can meet again…I love you MaMa
