George Edgar Obituary

George B. Edgar of Cornwall, died at his home in Cornwall on August 10, 2006. He was 87 years old.

The son of the late James C. and Mary C. Reid Edgar, George was born September 30, 1918 in Ithaca, N.Y. He was married to Mary Nannini Edgar. They were married June 15, 1941.

He was a retired carpenter/contractor and former vice president of Edgar's Apparel, Cornwall. He attended Cornwall Schools and was also an Army World War II Veteran.

Survivors include his wife at home, a son, George J. Edgar and his wife, Diana of Cornwall-on-Hudson; a daughter, Diane M. and her husband, Fred Koch of Cornwall; a sister, Gladys O'Dell of Highland; a brother-in-law, Dr. Louis Nannini of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Marcella Edgar of New Windsor; four grandchildren, Craig Koch, Bryan Edgar, Jason Edgar and Dawn Andre; four great grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Andre, Isabella Koch and Jack Edgar as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, William Edgar and a sister, Nancy Thurston.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 13, 2006 form 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home Inc., 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.

Funeral service will be Monday, August 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, Inc.

Burial will follow in St. Thomas of Canterbury Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stoney Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or to Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps., 1 Clinton St., Cornwall, NY 12518.
