Vincent "Vince" Dunn

Vincent "Vince" Dunn, 69, died Monday, January 13, 2013 in an Abilene hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013. Both will be at Girdner Funeral Home, 141 Elm, Abilene.

Mr. Dunn was born April 15th, 1943 to Ernest Phillip Dunn and Mary Dolores Zaragoza Dunn in East Chicago, Indiana. He grew up and attended school there and moved to the Abilene area 16 years ago. He was married to Luella Lobbia November 26th, 1975 in Hammond, Indiana.

Vince taught truck driving and drove a truck for Vulcan. He was a Marine Corps veteran and loved his horses Cisco and Uno, as well as his yellow lab, Dukie. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Ernest Dunn and Mike Ross.

He is survived by his wife, Luella of Hawley; daughters, Kathlyn Handley and husband Bill of Georgia, Jacqulin McLean and husband Kenneth of Indiana, and Paula Sertic and husband Jeff of Indiana; sons, Patrick Dunn of Georgia, Christopher Dunn of Georgia, and Larry Ross of Lampasas; sisters, Cecilia Lindell and husband Dennis of Indiana, Beatrice Kaplan and husband Noel of Illinois, and Charlotte Adams and husband Chuck of Indiana; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
