CLIFFORD COLE, 88 ROCKFORD - Clifford Cole, 88, Rockford, IL died Monday, August 17, 2015. He was born in Carrier Mills, IL on April 28, 1927, to parents, Ward and Lillian Cole. He was a loving husband, a wonderful dad and a great mentor to so many. He was actively involved at New Zion Baptist Church as he served as an ordained deacon and choir member until he became ill. He passionately worked as a brick layer and retired from Ingersoll of Rockford. He is survived by his wife, Viola; his son, Donald Cole, Las Vegas, NV; stepson, W. Gregory (Nancy) Anderson, Sparks, NV; stepdaughter, Kim (Aaron) Thomas, Rockford, IL; step grandsons, Randy Williams, Ricky Williams, Reggie Williams, Cullen Anderson and Conner Anderson; step granddaughter, Ebony Moore. sisters, Clesta Williams, Freeport, IL, Claretta Williams, Carrier Mills, IL; a host of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; 4 sisters; and 5 brothers. His family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the caring staff of Satori Pathway, Amberwood Care Centre and SwedishAmerican Hospital. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at New Zion Baptist Church, 604 Salter Ave, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Rev. K. Edward Copeland will be officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 23, in Carrier Mills, IL. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W.
