I met Bill while working at Council on Aging many years ago. He submitted many of his
poems to the Newsletter for everyone to enjoy. I saw Bill a week or two before Christmas and we chatted for a few minutes. I will miss his beautiful, insightful words, and kindness. Thank you Bill for keeping life interesting and sharing your words with us all. I take comfort that your words live on. You will be missed.

Billy always inspired me when I was a young boy, I was so very proud that I had a cousin who was a great poet, I just wish I could have seen him for one last time. Belvidere has lost a creative genius. William Beyer was a prolific poet who wrote on the beauty of nature, the Boone County Fair, and the human state.
I will miss your poetic, creative mind, your quiet and gentle ways, and your fabulous memory for movie trivia. I will remember you through the many poems which you shared with the community, and the sweet little cat memorabilia that you always found for me. May you have a peaceful journey. I will remember you always.
