Debra COX Obituary

COX, Debra J.
Debra Cox was born May 8, 1955 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2011, after losing her brave battle with small cell lung cancer. Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Tom Cox, adoring daughter Amber Lavaud, son Jason Cox, son-in-law Darren Lavaud, sisters Ginger Williams, Mary Street, brother Mike Braham, granddaughters, Ashlyn Jean (9), Audrey Michelle (7) and Darielle Marilyn (3). Debbie was an exceptionally likeable person who easily attracted people's attention in a positive way. Her love of life and unfailing sense of humor made the world a better place to be. Debbie's greatest passion was her family, whom she absolutely adored, especially her 3 beautiful granddaughters who brought her endless joy. Debbie was an 'island girl' and relished family vacations in Hawaii. Her fond memories of times spent there with her husband and family were treasures she held close to her heart. Debbie and her husband Tom have been respected local business owners of Zap Termite & Pest Control since 1982. We love you Debbie and will miss your love and laugher. May you now find peace, soaring with the angels. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 9th from 3:00-7:00pm at Russ Monroe's Funeral Home, 7960 Winding Way, Fair Oaks. Services will be held on Friday June 10th at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Orangevale located at 9889 Central Ave., Orangevale 95662. In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America at www.lcfamerica.com.

Amber-
Your mom was a remarkable woman. I remember first meeting her when I was 7 years old. Her laughter was infectious and her home was always warm and inviting for others. She raised an incredibly strong and courageous daughter. I’m sending you and your family thoughts of peace and courage.
