POORE, Pamela Maureen

Pamela passed from this life unto the next to be with her Lord on April 26, 2013. She valiantly fought cancer for the last year and a half , but could not overcome this deadly disease. She is survived by her dear husband of 55 years, David and her children Carrie Chase (Ted), Kirk Poore (Maria) and Gaelin Arbios (Zack). She is also survived by her mother, Mildred (Midge) Parsons, sister Candace Parsons and grandchildren Gordon Chase and Katherine and Henry Poore. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Parsons.

Pam was born on September 7, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Mildred Parsons and was raised in Rosemead, California. She met her future husband, David in eighth grade, and they have been soul mates ever since. She and David were married in 1958 and started their life together in Rosemead; moved to the Sacramento area in 1968 and have lived in Newcastle for the past twenty-seven years.

Pam received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Sacramento State University in 1974. She had always been an advocate for child education both in public schools, teaching gifted students in the San Juan School District, and teaching Sunday school for many, many years at First Baptist Church of Citrus Heights and First Baptist Church of Auburn. Pam transitioned into real estate, working exclusively for Century 21 Real Estate for 35 years.

Although she was the recipient of the Realtor of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards among others from the Sacramento Board of Realtors her first love was a devotion to the Christmas Can Tree program put on by the board, so much so, that she was affectionately known as Mrs. Can Tree. Besides being chairperson many times for that committee, for many years she sewed aprons and other items and donated them for prizes to aid in raising funds for the Salvation Army.

If Pam was here, she would say she would not want to be remembered for any award, but rather would hope that she was a positive force in people's lives, and that she was able to help people with decisions that would suit their needs. Honesty, integrity, compassion, fairness and a general 'I will make it happen' attitude is what she would want to be remembered for. She was always the person one could call for information, and was always the first to arrive and the last to leave when needed.

Donations can be made to the Salvation Army of Sacramento or the First Baptist Church of Auburn Childrens' Ministries.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Friday, May 3, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, 139 E. Placer St., Auburn, Calif 95603.
