Garry Sutherland Obituary
Garry Frank Sutherland, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2014. Born July 6, 1941. Married Shirley Swain Sutherland, later divorced. Married Kathy Bemis Sutherland, later divorced. Garry will be dearly missed by his children; Sue Gilbert, Cathi Sutherland, Mat Sutherland and Andy (Natascha) Sutherland, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, brothers Brent (Nican) Sutherland and Marc (Suzy) Sutherland and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Orlene Sutherland, brother Larry Sutherland and son Craig Sutherland.
Private family services will be held to celebrate his life. In memory of Garry please donate to the Sharing Place http:/www.thesharingplace.org/ways-to-support-us/donate in lieu of flowers.

What a great guy! I remember when he used to hang out with my brother Richard when they lived in Provo. I thought he was very very handsome even though he was seven years older then I.
Our paths crossed again when we both worked at USWest. He had an amazing mind. I don't think I have ever met anyone that could meet someone once and remember their name years later.
He was a wonderful man and he will surely be missed.

I'd like to let the Sutherland family know how very much Garry meant to his USWest family. Garry was the kind of boss you always wish you had. He knew everybody and who their family was and what was going on in their lives and always wanted to be there if needed in any way. He was, in my opinion, very fair and reasonable to his employees. His attitude and dilligence on our behalf made us a family. Of course I can't speak for everyone, but I know alot of people felt the same way. I respect the fact that his service was private. He probably would have wanted it that way. But if there had been a public service, it would have been packed with former colleagues and work family, which would have embarrassed him I'm sure.
