Morris Rubin Obituary

MILTON - Morris Rubin, 85, of 885 Penn St. for 18 years, formerly of Edison, N.J., died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Jersey City, N.J., a son of the late Abram and Rose (Cantor) Rubin. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Smith, were married for 67 years before her death Oct. 24.

Mr. Rubin was employed by United Lacquer Co., Linden, N.J., as a paint and lacquer formulator foreman before retiring after 40 years.

He had a lifelong love of skiing and was a member of the Raritan Valley Ski Club, Edison.

He also had a love of the outdoors, was a camping enthusiast his entire life and was a full-time RV'er for more than six years.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Rubin of Carolina Shores, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Adele Basow of Roselle Park, N.J.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and David; one brother, Phillip; and two sisters, Miriam Oldham and Lillian Quick.

A double entombment for Mr. and Mrs. Rubin will be held at 1 p.m. today in the mausoleum at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, N.J.

Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Cronrath Funeral Home Inc., 308 N. Main St., Watsontown, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
