CLAUDIO MONTANEZ Obituary
Claudio Gomez Montanez, age 68 went with the Lord on Feb 9, 2021.
He was preceded in death his beloved parents Pedro & Antonia Montanez.
He is survived by his wife Evangeline Montanez, stepson Ramil Rodriquez; stepgrandsons Stephen & Ramil Julian Rodriguez; Brothers Victor, Ruben, Martin & Hector Montanez; Sisters Catalina,Martha & Benita.
He was drafted in 1972 by the United States Marine Corps. He served his country for 10 years then left USMC as Sgt. in 1982 with an honorable discharge. He worked at Coffee Systems & SAS ( San Antonio Shoes). In 1986, he was selected in a training program as an Apprentice Aircraft Mechanic from the Dept. of Defense, USAF, Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas. In 1998, due to Base Closure at Kelly AFB, he was relocated to Tinker AFB, Ok. He retired in 2008 with 21 years civil service & 10 yrs. active duty from USMC. He then moved back home to San Antonio, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday February 25, 2021 a mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
