Elliot Johnson Obituary
Elliot was born in San Francisco on May 19, 1934. Graduated from San Bernardino High School. He and his twin brother served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Elliot finished his education at San Bernardino Valley College and San Diego State College. He spent 22 years in the Air Force and retired as the Public Information Officer at Lackland AFB in 1980. He worked for the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and VP and Regional Manger for two Savings and Loan Institutions before finishing out his career at USAA. Elliot was actively involved at local VFW Post 8541 and served in numerous positions and Commander of the post on several occasions. He and his twin brother grew up in show business and were able to perform with many top stars and many of the old-time vaudevillians.
Elliot leaves behind his two daughters Wendy O'Brien and Shelly Johnson, Granddaughter Jessica Borrego, Grandsons Justin Bloomer, Brendan O'Brien, and his eight great-grandchildren. Elliot had a twin brother Blake, who beat him to Ft. Sam Houston in 2007. Older brother Dana Johnson of Oxnard Ca, and sister Jeanne of Kirkland WA. He acquired the knack and timing and telling good jokes. As he said before he died, "Come visit, but stay on top! See ya at Fort Sam".

I worked with Elliot at the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce in the 1980s. He was always, always a positive guy full of jokes who made people lighten up. But he was a great manager and knew how to instill confidence and lift people's spirits. What a good man. He will be missed by many but remembered and inspired by many more.
Stinsons Flight, Order of Daedalians

Major Johnson will be recognized with a formal toast in his memory at the next meeting of Stinsons Flight, Order of Daedalians, of which he was a valued member. Hail, farewell, and happy landings from his fellow military aviators.
