Vincent Sekula Obituary

Vincent Paul Sekula, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and loyal friend to many, born June 27, 1921 passed from this world on Tuesday, December 2, 2003. Vincent was a barber on the Southeast side of San Antonio for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and during that time was honored to be selected to cut President Harry Truman's hair twice in addition to numerous generals such as General George Patton at the Potsdam Conference. Vincent especially loved living in the Cestohowa and Kosciusko area and served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Wesley P. MacLeod; parents, Ben and Regina Sekula; brother, Leonard Sekula. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Theresa Sekula; daughters, Cookie MacLeod and Ron, Patsy Santos and Robert, Sherry Wilkerson and David, Toni Lewis and Greg; son, Bernie Sekula and Wendy. He was Popo and Grandpa to Brandon and Christian Sekula, William and Katherine Wilkerson and Alexandra and Avery Lewis. He is also survived by sister, Eleanor Dzuik and brothers, Henry, Joe, and Archie Sekula in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Cohen and Dr. Thomas Nau and their superb staff and to the compassionate nurses in One North at the Northeast Baptist Hospital. ROSARY SUNDAY 2:00 P.M.
